MURMANSK, RUSSIA – July 13, 2017 – Delegation of Grenada, comprising representatives of the Embassy of Grenada to the Russian Federation, confirmed participation in the VI Murmansk International Business Week, which will be held from November 13 to 17, 2017. The visit of the representatives of Grenada within the framework of the VI MMDN will be the first for our region and will serve as an impetus for the development of further bilateral cooperation.
Intensification of cooperation between Russia and Grenada began in 2017. In April of this year, the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Grenada to the Russian Federation, Mr. Oleg Firer, took office, the Embassy of Grenada in the Russian Federation began its work.
It is planned that interaction between states will develop in the sphere of tourism, trade, culture and education.
On June 12, 2017 in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, a round table on “Cooperation between the Russian Federation and Grenada in the humanitarian, cultural, scientific and tourist areas” was held and the photo-exhibition “Nature and attractions of Grenada” opened. Cooperation projects have been examined on the basis of civil society institutions in Russia and Grenada, prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of culture, education, science and tourism, issues of promoting Russian language and culture in Grenada, exchange of students and teachers, cross cultural days and thematic cultural exhibitions.
Grenada is a small island nation in the Eastern Caribbean region. The population of the country is about 111 thousand people. Grenada is a leading producer of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, mace, coffee and provides 20% of world exports of nutmeg.
